Have you heard of Nordic Walking but not really sure what it is?
I was introduced to Nordic Walking during lockdown in 2021. I love walking and loved the idea of this as it gives an upper body workout along with a lower body one – so it’s a whole body workout. I loved it so much I decided to become a Nordic Walking instructor. I decided to do this as when I was doing my Facebook Lives it became apparent there were people who would love to do Nordic Walking but didn’t really want to do it alone. I loved the idea of being able to take others out for a Nordic Walk and Talk and finish off with a cup of tea/coffee ………… and more talking lol.
Any kind of group activity is great for socialising and our mental health – Nordic Walking is therefore perfect for this and also getting/keeping fit at the same time. It’s a win win.
Some people also think if you are already fit then Nordic Walking is not for them – but Nordic Walking can still improve your fitness as you can walk much faster using the poles and the correct technique.

Many people think you need to live somewhere snowy, or hilly or in the countryside – but you don’t. You can do it ANYWHERE, and as I live in Central London that’s where I do mine. There’s also a ton of parks to go to for lovely walks surrounded by Nature.
I have loved going out with friends for 5am sunrise walks in central London – they loved it and couldn’t believe they had done 10,000 without even realising it.
