Did you know it was National Walking Month in May? I hadn’t heard of this before but that could be that I wasn’t so much into my walking as I am now – especially Nordic Walking.
Why not consider a Walking Challenge in May? If you are on Facebook you can join in the challenge on my page here
You could include family, friends, neighbours, local community groups.
You don’t have to extreme – if you can manage 10 minutes a day, do that.
If you can manage 30 minutes then do that.
You can also break your time up into smaller amounts – so you could do three 10 minute sessions to make up your 30 minutes.
Instead of a timed challenge, you might want to do a Step Count – 10,000 steps is a common number many people aim for nowadays, but do what you think you can achieve. If you exceed it then thats brilliant.
You might want to do something each day – or you might want to commit to 2 or 3 days a week.
Consistency builds habits – so if you are not already walking consistently then May is a great time to start with some consistent walking, build a habit and then keep it going.
Walking has a number of GREAT benefits – and more benefits to it if you do Nordic Walking 🙂

I will be updating you on my walking challenge for May – I will be getting out for a Sunrise walk each day.
